“Why do I kayak? Why do people eat? Why do people go to work?

We do what we have to do to survive and without kayaking I wouldn’t survive.

Kayaking is my life and unlike the “normal” people around me who go about their everyday lives drinking coffee and sitting behind a desk solely to survive, I get off on only kayaking and I won’t ever be one of the “normal” people.

Why? Who knows, it’s just in my blood to do what I love.

Kayaking means everything to me, it’s a means to escape the everyday life and at the same time it brings such an adrenaline rush, whether it be floating mid air down a waterfall with your stomach in your mouth or sticking the biggest air screw of your life, it’s a feeling unlike anything else.

It’s a feeling that can’t be bought or bargained for, it is isn’t available to everyone….only those who choose to step back from the “normal” world where you work your 9 to 5 jobs and then take a step into our world!

A world of people who don’t work to better their career in some high rise building but a world of people who have an unbreakable passion for what they are into and that passion can never be taken away from them!

It is my life and will always be… it’s my burning desire deep inside myself to get on the river and feed the rat inside!

Rusty has finished the season in Canada and has a couple of vids of him at play  here and here . Both are filmed in the depths of a first descent in the Yukon. (Or maybe the Penrith artificial course in Oz).

RB throwing big on his way to equal first in the big air comp at Penrith.
