For the first time in the three-year history of the event, freestyle kayaking World Champion Tanya Faux was honoured at the Teva Mountain Games at Vail in June 2007 with the Everest Award in the kayaking category for her achievements.
The Everest Awards are presented to the male and female adventure athletes with the most outstanding achievements of the past year and candidates and winners were recognized as “pioneers, innovators, leaders, change agents and reflective of the soul of the sport.”

- 2007 Everest Award Female Paddler of the Year, Reno River Fest champion
- Silver medalist at the 2007 World Freestyle Kayak Championships.
- Nominated for Australian Female Athlete of the Year 2007
- Past World Cup Freestyle Champion
- 1st Female to complete a combination move, the BREAD and BUTTER!
- First Decent of King Edward River (Kimberley’s Australia).
- Reno River Fest Champion 2005 and 2006
- Pre-World Freestyle 2004.
