This page is designed to be a "roadmap" of the expedition's pages, so we hope you'll spear off into the different sections via the embedded links and the Navigation Buttons below. Just one request though, please look at the rest of this page regarding the Save The Kimberly campaign and to give a big thank you to our sponsors.
Enough preamble, here we go …..
Click on either INFO or SHOW ON MAP in the box above regarding the day you want to look at and you’ll see a snapshot of that day. There is a written description and also some images with any luck. Then see the full day’s update in the pages named “Daily updates, week 1” etc here.

THE EXPEDITION’S ETHICAL ACTIVIST PARTNER.
Fact 1: According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics there are as of the 20th of February 2008 there are 21,216,245 people living in Australia. That means there are 21,176,245 Australians who don’t live in the Kimberly and probably aren’t going there anytime soon.
It’s a long way away, both physically and mentally from Woolloomooloo and South Yarra.
Fact 2: According to the CIA World Fact Book 2007, the Chinese population is 1,321,851,888, none of whom live in the Kimberly but all of whom would like electric light at home, a reverse cycle Toshiba air conditioner and preferably a Toyota Corolla as well.
The power to make electricity and the materials for the A/C unit and Corolla doesn’t come from outer space; in one way or another it’s sort of dug out of the ground and the Kimberly’s is a good place to do just that, like the stuff’s there in the first place and it aint in many people's backyard. (Thanks Susie for that correction; like you live there!)
Ipso plus Facto: World demand + abundant resources + indifference = The potential rooting up of one of THE last untamed wildernesses on earth (Not counting South Philadelphia).
Who’s helping and how can you?
The "Save the Kimberley" group is an independent awareness organisation and has been established to:
1. Educate the Australian and international community about the threat to the Kimberley Coast and its inland wilderness areas posed by multi-billion dollar gas and large-scale industrial development proposals.
2. Engage support to ensure that the Kimberley is protected for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
3. Produce educational material about the impacts of the proposed developments.
4. Disseminate information about the Kimberley’s globally unique cultural importance and the threats created by uncontrolled development.
Save The Kimberley does not oppose development, it supports appropriate development that looks after people and the environment of the Kimberley.
Common crap question: “But I’m just one person, how can I change anything?”
Uncommon answer: (potentially open to misinterpretation of key point): "Look at Hitler".
Enough lecturing, it would be great if people get involved right here.
MAJOR SPONSORS:
The expedition’s thanks go to the major sponsors of Teva and Mainpeak Paddlesports. Please visit The Sponsors page and then their websites to see what they’re up to. There’s an FTR prize to the first person to identify the Waterfall Dreaming expedition member on the Australian Teva site.
And another one if you can correctly identify the left hand mountain on the Mainpeak website and who first climbed it. (PS. On this one, you can lie, we’ve got no idea).
